Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to take ownership of key accounting processes, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and provide reliable reporting support to management. This role includes maintaining General Ledger accounts, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, performing complex reconciliations, and contributing to month-end and year-end closings. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting skills with the ability to work independently and coordinate across departments. They should be adaptable and proactive in improving accounting processes, including automation, to enhance the quality and reliability of our financial data.
Recurring activities:
- Perform day-to-day, monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting transactions related to different accounting areas;
- Monitor and analyze project financials including revenue, billing, forecasts, and unbilled amounts; identify discrepancies and coordinate resolution with relevant teams;
- Research and solve complex account analyses and reconciliations for international activity;
- Manage Indian tax compliance, prepare tax reconciliations, and ensure proper accounting treatment of tax-related items;
- Performing analytical reviews and reconciliations and doing research as required to resolve problems;
- Work with global accounting team to improve monthly process through identification/correction of inefficiencies;
- Partner with IT department and develop & drive system improvements and automation for accounting and finance teams;
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and financial adjustments;
- Attend to external auditor’s requests and queries for statutory and group audits;
- Assist Finance leadership with various ad-hoc assignments.
Qualification requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
- 5+ years of experience ideally gained working in a multinational technology business dealing with software products and consulting services;
- Strong expertise in Indian tax regulations, including compliance, reconciliations, and accounting treatment.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or Anaplan is a plus;
- Ability to identify new ways of looking at problems and providing solutions that make meaningful improvements and drive change.
