The ROLE:
The Manager I of Engineering plays a key leadership role, directly managing a small team of software engineers. This role is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software projects, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture, and supporting the professional growth of engineers. In addition to leading day-to-day execution, this manager contributes to tactical decision-making, participates in architectural discussions, and ensures engineering efforts are aligned with project goals. They collaborate closely with product, design, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions that support Syniti’s broader mission.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Manage and support a team of software engineers, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and regular performance feedback to support individual growth.
• Guide the team in applying engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, and secure development.
• Participate in architectural and technical design discussions, ensuring sound engineering decisions.
• Collaborate closely with product and cross-functional teams to align priorities and deliver value.
• Help shape a positive and inclusive team culture that fosters engagement, learning, and innovation.
• Identify and address delivery risks, blockers, or process gaps within the team’s scope.
• Contribute to hiring and onboarding of new engineers, and support team scaling efforts.
WHAT IT TAKES:
• Having relevant experience of 8 - 13 years in fullstack development.
• Proven experience as a team lead or first-line engineering manager in a software development environment.
• Strong technical foundation in modern software development (e.g., C#, Go, React, TypeScript, AWS).
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, and software delivery processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and support the growth of engineering team members.
• Experience participating in technical design, architecture reviews, and secure development practices.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, distributed, and cross-functional environment. Benefits:
