The ROLE

 

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Global Tax Director to lead and manage the tax operations for our legal entities worldwide. This person will ensure compliance with global tax laws, provide hands-on support for international tax matters, and work closely with local accountants and tax advisors. The Global Tax Director will also be responsible for transfer pricing documentation, helping to streamline intercompany transactions, and offering strategic tax advice as the company continues to grow. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, curious, and eager to explore new tax areas even outside their current expertise.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

  1. Tax Compliance and Reporting:
    • Oversee and manage global tax compliance processes across all legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate tax filings.
    • Work closely with local accountants and tax advisors to navigate complex tax regulations and ensure alignment with local laws.
    • Ensure accurate tax reporting, including direct and indirect taxes (e.g., VAT/GST/ US Sales & Use taxes), and partner with finance teams to review tax provisions and deferred taxes.
  2. Transfer Pricing Management:
    • Lead the update, development, and implementation of transfer pricing policies and documentation for all international operations.
    • Ensure compliance with OECD guidelines and local transfer pricing regulations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline intercompany transactions, providing tax-efficient solutions.
  3. Tax Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and execute global tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
    • Analyze tax law changes globally and their potential impact on the organization, and provide recommendations for action.
    • Partner with legal and finance teams to identify tax savings opportunities and mitigate risks.
  4. Process Improvement & Technology:
    • Collaborate with the accounting and finance teams to streamline tax processes and improve efficiencies in intercompany transactions.
    • Work to automate and improve tax reporting processes through the use of technology, ensuring scalability and alignment with the company's growth.
  5. Advisory & Leadership:
    • Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on international tax matters, including but not limited to transfer pricing, corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and tax audits.
    • Advise senior management on the tax implications of business decisions, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
    • Provide leadership to the finance and accounting teams, and foster strong relationships with external advisors and auditors.
  6. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation globally and advise on necessary actions to ensure compliance.
    • Oversee tax audits and resolve issues with tax authorities when necessary.

 

 

WHAT IT TAKES

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; CPA or relevant tax certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in global tax management, with a deep understanding of international tax laws and regulations. 4+ years of experience in Tax department in one of the Big 4 accounting firms.
  • Extensive experience in managing transfer pricing policies and intercompany transactions.
  • Proven track record of working with multinational companies and managing tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong hands-on approach, with the ability to dive into complex tax issues and develop solutions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and geographies.
  • A driven, curious, and flexible mindset, capable of managing new challenges outside current areas of expertise.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient user of Excel and Power Point.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with tax automation tools and ERP systems.
  • Prior experience working in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
