THE ROLE

The Principal SRE – BTP & AWS Specialist will be responsible for designing and automating hybrid cloud environments to support Syniti’s SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) workloads across AWS and Azure. This role is instrumental in integrating SAP BTP multi-cloud services into Syniti’s runtime ecosystem, while maintaining rigorous security standards in compliance with local This engineer will lead the infrastructure and platform re-architecture effort to enable Syniti SaaS workloads to run on SAP BTP and integrated hyperscaler environments. They will develop secure, scalable automation frameworks and observability standards that enable consistent deployment and operations of BTP applications, ensuring integration with both Kubernetes and PaaS architectures.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

· Design and implement runtime support architecture for SAP BTP workloads across AWS and Azure.

· Create cloud-agnostic deployment models and CI/CD frameworks for BTP extensions.

· Implement end-to-end observability and telemetry for SAP BTP components including HANA, Kyma, and API management.

· Ensure BTP workloads comply with rigorous regional security standards.

· Integrate workload identities and secure service-to-service auth between BTP and Syniti services.

· Lead RCA and incident management efforts for BTP-related infrastructure or platform outages.

· Collaborate with SAP and cloud provider teams on compliance and performance testing.

 

WHAT IT TAKES

· Self-starter with deep understanding of hybrid cloud patterns and SAP ecosystems.

· Exceptional documentation and system architecture design capabilities.

· Ability to work across boundary teams – including SAP BTP, cloud engineering, security, and product.

· Strong service ownership and ability to handle incident escalations autonomously.

· Experience supporting regulated environments

· 15+ years experience in SRE, platform, or cloud engineering roles.

· 5+ years direct experience with SAP BTP workloads or related hyperscaler integrations.

· 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, RDS, IAM) and Azure equivalents (AKS, AAD, Managed SQL).

· 2+ years of Software Development experience

· Experience provisioning and managing service mesh with SPIFFE/SPIRE

· Advanced scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Go.

· Deep knowledge of cloud-native security models including pod identity, workload identity federation, and secure transport.

· CI/CD proficiency using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins.

· Infrastructure automation using Terraform, CDK, or native SDKs.
